Why Truly Exists

Making hiring easy for people who hire people.

We're bringing clarity, trust, and confidence to one of the most personal decisions a family will ever make — finding the right person to bring into their home.
Stephanie with her daughter

For years, I watched families navigate one of the hardest hiring decisions of their lives with almost no support. I know because I'm one of them.

My daughter has a rare disease. Our care journey has been stressful and overwhelming — and we are far from alone. Whether you're finding a nanny, caring for an aging parent, or supporting someone with a disability, the search for the right person often arrives in crisis. And in that moment, families are posting in group chats, texting friends of friends, fielding DMs and calls all at once — managing a cascade of interest on sticky notes and Google Sheets while carrying the weight of getting it right.

Corporate recruiters have purpose-built systems for hiring. Professional infrastructure for professional decisions. But families? Arguably higher stakes, zero infrastructure.

I kept waiting for something better to exist. It didn't. So I built it.

Truly gives families back what this process takes from them — time, clarity, and the ability to be present with the people they love.

What Truly Different Looks Like

Our Mission

At Truly, we're rebuilding how families find in-home caregivers — starting from the networks they already trust.

We give families the tools to go deeper than a resume: to understand values, personality, and the kind of presence someone brings into a home. And we give caregivers the platform to show who they really are. Because the best hires happen when both sides feel seen.
Our mission

The Truly Story

Built by families, for the future of care.

01

We’ve lived this.

We’re a team of parents and builders who know firsthand what it’s like to search for trusted care.

Between us, we’ve navigated nearly every kind of caregiving: childcare, disability care, and care for aging parents.

We’ve supported loved ones through dementia, chronic illness, and even early health challenges that required care long before old age.

02

We’ve built things that scale.

Our team has founded and sold companies, raised more than $200 million in venture capital, and led award-winning work recognized across industries.

We’ve spoken on global stages, volunteered around the world, and lived in multiple countries, bringing diverse perspectives (and languages) to how we build.

We know how to move fast, design thoughtfully, and use technology to solve deeply human problems.

03

Why we built Truly.

Truly was born from that dual perspective: knowing how broken this process is, and knowing how to fix it.

We're using agentic AI to help families hire smarter — not by replacing the human judgment that matters most, but by supporting it at every step.

04

Our mission.

To rebuild the infrastructure for how families find and hire care — making the process clearer, more trustworthy, and more human for everyone involved.

05

Our why.

Between the four of us, we're raising seven daughters. We're building the hiring system we want to exist for them — and for every family navigating this moment.

The State of Complex Care

We conducted a research study with 486 families and what we learned further fuels our purpose and urgency.

Less than 3 in 10 families have their caregiving needs met. Inadequate care drives higher job loss, medical disruption, and forced exits from the workforce.

Our Vision

Truly is building the infrastructure for finding and hiring care—so people can get the help they need and live the lives they want.

In a market where 63 million Americans serve as unpaid caregivers and families spend billions annually on in-home care, the infrastructure for how people actually find and hire help hasn't caught up. Truly is building the platform that changes that.

Finding the right caregiver makes all the difference.
